I STAYED 2 NIGHTS 08/17 & 08/18/10 ON MY 1ST VISIT TO CHICAGO. THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL TO THIS IST TIME VISITOR. THE HOTEL WAS VERY CLEAN. LOCATION WAS GREAT IN A NICE NEIGHBORHOOD AND WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF WRIGLEY FIELD AND THE ASSOCIATED BARS/RESTAURANTS--PLUS A COUPLE PLACES RIGHT DOWN THE BLOCK. BUS AND EL STOPS ARE VERY CLOSE. THE ROOM AND ELEVATOR WERE SMALLISH, BUT SO WHAT? I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN AND RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO FRIENDS.

We stayed two nights- a Friday and Saturday. We had a quiet night the first night but the paper thin walls allowed normal talking to come through from the next room. Our room was especially small but considering the age of the building it was acceptable. Very friendly staff and well maintained building. The very positive aspect of the hotel was it's location and almost reasonablr rates. But don't forget to figure in the $* per day parking fee for valet parking. Also TAXES came to just over $*. There are many wonderful restaurants and a great cross section of all age groups in the area. We walked but it appears public transportation is available and good.

The room was great, the service was great, and the trip was a blast. I recommend this hotel. I found the room to be very clean (window view was of a wall, but whatever) and large. The service was awesome and they did a great job helping us find our way around town. Make sure you plan for parking costs because they don't have a parking lot. Also, they are quiet a ways from all of the 'tourist areas', so expect about a $10 cab ride or hop on a train.

I visited Chicago for two nights. The first night I spent in Evanston, the second night I spent was in this hotel. This hotel was VERY much NOT what I expected. This room was MUCH smaller, it was outdated for the same price I paid for luxury the night before at the other hotel. If you are looking for 'plush' and spacious, this is NOT the hotel. It has a stale smell, mixed with household cleaning products when you get off the elevators to your floor. The halls are dimly lit and gave me the spooky feeling that this place may have been something else before..like some type of hospital or college dormitory. Maybe I watch too much TV but thats what it felt like to me, spooky. The bed was too small and I didnt care for the outdated fixtures and furniture. The tub had chipped paint and was a creepy one with 'feet'. She shower head sprayed water all over the bathroom floor. The front desk staff was exceptional however I didnt appreciate a service person interrupting my stay at 8am wanting to get into my room for an electrical problem the hotel was having. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I know because they are just as 'fab' as me and would never stay in a place like this.
